THE Federal Government has
received the country self-assessment report by the National Steering Committee
on the second Peer Review of Nigeria.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator
Pius Anyim, received the report in Abuja, on Tuesday.
This was as the Federal Government announced that
activities for the 2015 presidential inauguration will hold from Friday, May
22, through Friday, May 29.
SGF while receiving the report of the Country
self-assessment, commended the Chairman and members of the National
Steering Committee for successfully completing their assignment, even in the
face of challenges.
Anyim said Nigeria, as one of the champions of New
Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), had continued to show leadership
by being one of the first countries to submit itself for a second peer review.
He said he would ensure that the report got to the
president immediately, so that it could form part of the documents for handing
over to the incoming administration.
