Duranord Veillard will turn 108 on Saturday, February 28, 2015, while his wife of 82 years, Jeanne, turns 105 in May.

According to USA Today, the Veillards plan to celebrate a milestone few others will see with family, friends and well-wishers at their home, where they live with a daughter, Marie Eveillard.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan, since assumption of office in 2011, never responded to the needs of Lagos residents, saying, “at our time of needs, he did not respond to our pleas.”

Meantime, the Independent national Electoral Commission, INEC, will today commence distribution of Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC in the polling units across the state.

Fashola spoke at the All Progressives Congress, APC Campaign rally at the Ifako-Ijaiye Mini-stadium, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area, which also had in attendance the party Governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode among other dignitaries.

The governor noted that the president remembered residents of Lagos few weeks ago when he visited the state and spent five days holding meetings and distributing different hard currencies to people.

Gary Glitter bagged16-year prison for child sex abuse

He was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court in London for the six offenses, committed against three victims between 1975 and 1980. There is no statute of limitations for such offenses in the UK.

Glitter, 70, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was convicted this month of one count of attempted rape of a girl under the age of 13, one count of having sex with a girl under the age of 13 and four counts of indecent assault against girls.

Glitter was known as a “glam rocker” in the 1970s for his flamboyant clothes and performing style. He sold 18 million records with hits such as “I’m the Leader of the Gang (I Am!),” “I Love You Love Me Love” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

Detective Chief Inspector Michael Orchard of London’s Metropolitan Police praised the courage of the abuse victims in coming forward to police.

“Paul Gadd has shown himself to be a habitual sexual predator, who took advantage of the star status afforded to him by targeting young girls who trusted him and were in awe of his fame,” Orchard said. “His lack of remorse and defense that the victims were lying make his crimes all the more indefensible.”

Savile, who died in 2011 aged 84, was revealed after his death to have been one of Britain’s most prolific sex offenders. British police say more than 200 victims — between ages 5 and 75 — have been identified.

Glitter had been prosecuted previously on sex charges.

In 1999, he admitted possessing child pornography and was jailed for four months. While living in Vietnam, he was convicted of sex offenses against young girls and jailed for nearly three years before being deported to England.

Glitter is the latest celebrity to be accused or convicted of historic sex offenses.

SURE-P Job Seekers Turn To S*x slave

 

 Listening to couple of graduates narrate their ordeal in the hands of the management of the federal government Subsidy Re-Investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) in Lagos state recently, one will definitely be moved into tears going by the trauma and hardship these innocent job seekers were made to go through in the last two years; yet, none of them have been given employment letter let alone salary.

The management of SURE-P in Lagos led by a politician named Alhaji Abdul Razak Rafiu Otto has made life miserable for the graduates who had high hopes of getting employed through the President Jonathan’s SURE-P initiative, is alleged to have been extorting money from applicants through different means for almost 2 years.

Surprisingly, one of the top managers at SURE-P usually called Alhaji was caught pants-down with one of the female applicants doing it right inside his office.

The discovery shook the establishment that management had no choice but to show Alhaji the exit door.

 Many road users would have definitely witnessed thousands of job seekers besieging an office by the old Toll Gate close to 7up Bottling Company along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway on daily basis. These job seekers converge every day to either process their employment or training under the SURE-P/FERMA programme. But it will interest the public to know that none of the thousands of heads seen at the SURE-P office has been given a dime for almost 2years; the expected training allowance or salary has become a mirage of sort.

Investigation revealed that top management staff of SURE-P has been selling all free items meant for processing application to the almost 50,000 applicants. The female amongst them are said to be losing in two ways; apart from coughing out their money, they are turned to s*x slaves just because of the promise that their cases will be facilitated swiftly than their male counterpart.

According to some of the applicants approached by SOCIETY REPORTERS, it has become a common knowledge that what SURE-P means to them is nothing but SCAM. One of the people who spoke with us, Kehinde Akeem says “it’s a pity we are being exploited because of our situation, I have paid about N180,000 in almost two years; some of us paid about N300,000 in total. The money we first paid was N35,000 for Federal Road Committee on Surveillance Patrol Against Road Abuse (FERSPARA), we also bought another form from SURE-P for N25,000. We bought Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi FIIRO for N10,000. 

Incidentally all these forms were meant to be for free, in fact its written boldly on the forms that ‘Not For Sale’, but because we don’t have choice since we were assured of getting the job, we obliged anything they tell us.”

Another applicant, Biola who corroborated claims by his colleagues says, “I made my wife to close-up her shop because of the money I collect from her regularly to pay all the fees we are being charged; at present my wife is at home now and we strive to live as a family. They promised us jobs, that is why we pay for everything; we paid, N37,500 for SURE-P kits, N2,500 for Vest and Cap, N5,000 for Medical, N10,000 for Identity Card. We did two photo capturing 1,000 for each, in fact there is nothing that we didn’t pay for; I can’t even remember some of them again. Many of the females among us are being messed up daily; they sleep with them and cajole them with empty promises of securing jobs for them, it’s close to two years now and nobody has been given employment letter”

Some of the applicants disclosed that sometimes ago, they had considered staging a protest, but they had to fall in line when a top shot in SURE-P warned them to desist from such act because different weapons were alleged to have been kept inside the offices in case of such uprising.

In another development, We gathered reliably that, the management have made sure all the applicants have been given Permanent Voters Card (PVC) for the forth coming elections and their phone numbers written down to make sure they are persuaded to vote for PDP.

They have equally been told to go home, that they can only be employed if President Goodluck Jonathan is re-elected. 

  

Interestingly, if Gen.(rtd) Mohammadu Buhari emerges as the new Head Of Nigerian States, it means the 50,000 Lagosians that have been made to cough out huge amount will not only lose the money forever but also their hopes will be dashed completely. This reality is because, it has been spelt out to them that they will be employed only if Jonathan retains his seat.

When we tried to reach out to Head of the SURE-P programme in the State Rafiu Otto, he didn’t respond to our calls or even reply text messages.

2015 JAMB CBT Exam Commencement Date Announced

 

  The management of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the date for the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Computer Based Test (CBT). 

The JAMB PRO, Mr Fabian Benjamin, who made the announcement said that the exam is scheduled to commence on Monday, 9th March, 2015. 

He said that the computer mode examination will be written by about 1.4 million candidates nationwide. 

Benjamin urged public spirited individuals and

corporate organizations to invest in CBT by way of building and equipping more centers. 

The JAMB spokesman added that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO)and other examination bodies would soon be migrating to the computer-based examination mode soon

The 65-year-old Olympic gold medalist seems ready to embrace his  life as a woman, especially the sexual part.

He now has a more feminine look, growing out his hair, wearing nail polish, and more. The only surgical procedure he has had was having his Adam’s apple reduced in January 2014.

Immigration begins clampdown on illegal immigrants

The Nigeria Immigration Service has begun mopping up of illegal immigrants in Osun State ahead of the general elections holding between March and April, 2014.

The Comptroller of NIS in Osun State, Mr. Chris Onunwor, while parading the illegal immigrants arrested by officials of the command in Osogbo on Friday, said they were not going to deport them but would make sure that any of them who wanted to continue to live in the country have their documentation done properly.

He said the NIS officials who were in all local government areas in the state were working to ensure that nationals of other countries residing in Nigeria had proper documentation.

He said, “We know that there are nationals of other countries living in Nigeria and most of them are doing legitimate business but some came in through illegal routes.

“So we are carrying out mop up exercise all over the country to ensure that aliens do not participate in the forthcoming elections.

“They don’t have the right to participate in elections in Nigeria either by voting or by being used by some unscrupulous politicians to cause violence. We are working to ensure that the nationals of other countries do not participate in our elections.

“We want them to have proper documentation and with this we will be able to monitor their movement and activities. We are also calling on those habouring these illegal immigrants to bring them out for proper documentation.”

Onunwor, who resumed as the comptroller general in Osun State command in early February, urged residents to make useful information available to assist the command in knowing illegal immigrants.

He said some of the foreign nationals causing trouble in the country did not come with evil intention but said they might have been corrupted by just one of them who had contact with some bad groups.

He, however, said that security agencies would be able to monitor their activities if they were properly registered by the NIS.

I Know The Next Messiah For Nigeria Says Prophet Oluyemi

An Ibadan-based popular prophet, Apostle Perez Iyiola Oluyemi has affirmed that President Goodluck Jonathan is not the Messiah Nigeria needs.

The cleric, who doubles as founder of Achievers Rock Commission International and President, Africa Evangelical Council, said Nigerians should expect another “messiah” who will lead them out of their social and economic woes and not the current leader.

Apostle Iyiola made this prediction in his newly-published book entitled: ‘Prophetic Roadmap on Nigeria 2015 and Beyond.’

Copies of the books were made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Thursday.

The cleric in the book declared that “Jonathan would not be the messiah, but an unnamed ‘David’ would be”.

The publication reads in part, “While David stands for the on-coming (next) generation, and he is to be the permanent messiah of Israel, the man whose dynasty Israel would live to praise for thousands of years to come. David was also of the minority of the minority, Judah, though, spoken of much earlier in prophecy had never shown any record of much greatness except much earlier in Perez and Caleb. Unto Judah shall the scepter be until Shiloh comes.

“Though predictions had been made much earlier, Judah never rose to anything as much of greatness until David came. But the oncoming generation, the great oncoming mighty leader that will conquer all the external enemies of Israel and would usher the nation into greatness would be raised up into national fame and celebration through Saul/Jonathan i.e. Saul cum Jonathan administrations.”

It reads further: “Who is this David? I cried aloud! Once we can identify the David, we shall solve the riddle of Nigeria.”

Oluyemi stated that the spirit took him “back to a prophecy and an earlier revelation in 2010 of a man from the South East of Nigeria, specifically, of Igbo extraction who shall become the Nigeria’s messiah and lead the nation away from an oil dependent economy to a heavily industrialised nation of the world, when Nigeria will be made a great cynosure of the entire globe fulfilling her place and purpose in God’s great destiny for her as a nation, which the devil had fought for too long a time by civil war and the likes.”

Oluyemi said “it is the pact of Jonathan’s that will birth Davidic reign. The Davidic reign is the messiah reign. A messiah is coming! The Messiah that no Saul shall be able to stop though had long been persecuted by Saul in the light of the divine manifold wisdom, we walk as children of light whereby we shall not stumble. For what God permits and expects man to do, angels would not be sent to do it.

“Angels would only do what they are ordered to do. They wait on man for man to do what he (man) is expected to do. It is the right of man to vote not of the angels. Man should vote wisely by choice and not by force, out of the light of understanding and counsel, he is graced with.

“God in the context of this crossroad of the destiny of this biggest and greatest black nation on the earth has been gracious and liberal to raise a voice in the light of His Prophetic Apostolic mandate to guide us by choice and not by order.

“Even though, it is written that the steps of the righteous are ordered by the LORD but God is still magnanimous enough to lead us not as if we are robots by way of order but by our choices so that when He judges the world, God might be just to all. Choices are ours; judgment belongs to God.

“The Davidic government will be assisted and established by military helps. The Jonathan administration will have a pact with Davidic government but Saul’s spiritual dynasty will rise against David’s rising and the spiritual Saul will fall at Gibeah by military clash. That will give birth to the establishment of Davidic reign of dominion for Nigeria over all her external enemies.

“Nevertheless, the hand of the Lord will come against Jonathan’s reign before the end of his other second reign for the break of his covenant to leave at the end of the full first term which would have smoothly birthed the Davidic rule, immediately after the end of his first agreed first term.

“Therefore, Jonathan’s rule will not endure forever but fizzle out as like Yar’Adua’s dynasty did. The military will be the instrumentality of God to fully establish the Davidic rule during the second term of Jonathan which shall be the Nigeria’s Messianic Rule. Some mysterious hand will come upon the military to help establish the Davidic rule over the entire nation. Jonathanic and Davidic rules are somehow mysteriously connected”.
