Nigerians Should Embrace Peace Says Sultan Of Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, described the Saturday's elections as the best the country has ever had and lauding President Jonathan for peacefully conceding defeat.
The respected monarch according to Channels television said that the President’s singular act of calling General Buhari to congratulate him  was a lesson for all Nigerians.
He said that the gesture by the President should be seen as a sign of the development of our democracy.
He added also that President Jonathan, having always promised his full commitment to peace during and after the polls, has shown a high level of integrity. He said, “Mr President has strengthened our beliefs in his words.”
While commenting on the conduct and outcome of the polls, the Sultan of Sokoto refereed to the presidential election as “the best election we (Nigeria) have ever had”, commending all Nigerians for embracing peace.
