Following the due process of having a credible free and fair election in Nigeria,Professor Attairu Jega chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission finally announced the final results of the 2015 presidential elections around 3am this morning 1st of April 2015.
Former Military head of state Buhari, who had contested the race three times before, defeated the incumbent president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) .
Buhari won the election with 15,424,921 followed closely by Mr. Jonathan with 12,853,162.
In Jega's word, he said "14 candidates, fielded by 14 political parties participated in the election. We'd like to announce the votes for each party". See full analysis here:
