The Catholic Diocese Of Sokoto State, Bishop Mattew Kukah, called on all mothers to caution their family against involvement in Violence during the forthcoming elections. Kukah said this during the chursh Thanksgiving service yesterday that was held in his honour by Sr. Johns Catholic Church, Kakuri, Kaduna.
In Kukah's words, he said “Tell your children and husbands that only the living can enjoy democracy. “All negative anxieties about the elections must be put aside by Nigerians, and come out en-mass to vote.” He further said that the forthcoming elections were significant as Nigerians “will be voting for stability and future of the country.” He then urged Nigerians to trust in God and exercise their franchise. He said God had a divine plan for Nigerians which must come to pass. Kukah also urged IDPs from Adamawa, Borno and Yobe to ensure they vote wherever they found themselves.
