A good number of us had that vision and dream of what we want to be in life. Some want to be bankers, doctors, lawyers, engineers, teacher, actors and more. The question now is, are we living towards our dream or have we given up on those dreams? Situations around might not allow you chase your dream, parents, church and some other factors, but that should not make you change your mind to something different that you are not interested in. Nobody should choose your career or give you their own dream for you to chase and fulfill.. Chase and fulfill your own dreams.
The following obstacles should never make you give up on your dreams or change your mind:
1. Failure: Everyone is scared of failing, but if we don't fail, how do we learn from our mistakes and make things better. Never be scared. Face your fears and you will see yourself sailing high... Failure is one of the best ways to learn and bring the best out in us. Most of our mentors also failed at a point, but they didn't allow that failure to define them. They rose up, tried again and again and again till they overcame and conquered.
2. Going Alone: Many people claim not to have people around and they get bored chasing their dreams. This is so wrong, there are people around.. if you get to a point and you are unsure of what is happening or what will happen next? talk to someone you are comfortable with.. rub minds with people. you never can tell what that person will tell you that will spark up your energy. never be a loner. Talk to people.
3. It is Impossible: Have you ever had anybody tell you that your dreams are impossible or they laugh at you and ask how you want to achieve that dream of yours?? Never accept the word IMPOSSIBLE rather claim the word POSSIBLE because the dream arose from you and with your set goals and objectives always have a positive believe that your dreams are possible. Remember Ben Carson, he always thought he was a dullard, but they day he started believing he was smart, that was the day things turned around for him. Believe in yourself, your dreams and see yourself are roaming in success. If you cant believe the dream,then you wont have the strength and driving force to pursue the dream and you will sitting right at the verge of failure and sadness.
4. Love: It is a good thing to love our families, friends and all, but that should not stop us from pursuing our dreams. We should not feel that it is our obligation to love everybody at the detriment of achieving our dreams while they are busy achieving theirs. That you are pursing your career doesn't mean you should ignore everyone, keep in touch but never give up your dreams to love people who will not do the same for you. Your true friends and family will support and love to and even push you to make sure you achieve your dreams. Anyone who abandons you because of your dream is scared of their own fears, need and insecurities and such person is not true to you. That is not true love.
5. Future Shock: We should never leave any step undone before moving to another. So many people never imagine how to make their dreams work, rather they are busy thinking if the dream will work.. You cant think of the future without thinking of the present. Think of how you can make it work before asking if it will work. Start with A & B before thinking Y & Z.
These are the five steps i have for you. never allow these obstacles stop you from chasing and fulfilling your dreams. Obstacles are meant to make us charge our batteries and work harder. they are not meant to make us give up or change our minds.
