I Was Elected As First Lady Because I Am Educated-Patience Jonathan

 patience jonathan

The first lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan who visitied Ondo state yesterday made emphasis on the imprtance of education in her life as that is the major reason she got elected. Patience who was on a women rally made some profound statement while addressing the women in Ondo state. In her words, "she said she is a daugghter and a fan of the former first lady, Late Maryam Babangida. She therefore persuaded the youths of the state to pursue their education as that was the key to winning election using herself as an example. “Majority of the people of Ondo are educated and I believe you know the importance of education because without education there is no future. We should thank God for the administration of Goodluck and PDP. If somebody is talking and you are not educated, can you be there? If Hilary Clinton is talking and you are not educated, can you be there? As Mimiko (governor of Ondo) is there, without education can he be there? As I am standing before you, if I am not educated, will they choose me?”

Patience Jonathan holds a B.Ed in Biology and Psychology from the University of Port Hacourt, and she has worked a teacher in Bayelsa and also Bayelsa State Ministry of Education before her husband became the Deputy Governor of the state.

However, her talk got me thinking.. did she contest for elections? how did having a degree enter winning election and if she truly got a degree, what happened to her bad English speech and construction. Shes meant to remove the log in her eyes before pointing another persons own. Shameful
