LAGOS GOVERNORSHIP: I’ll Beat Ambode So Badly- Jimi Agbaje

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje, has expressed optimism that he will hand the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenger, Akinwumi Ambode a thrashing at the polls on February 28.
Agbaje also faulted the Lagos state government’s failure to pay the N18,000 minimum wage and leave bonus meant for civil servants in the state while promising to ensure prompt payment of the wage when he is elected into office.
He also reiterated the need for indigent and non-indigent residents of Lagos to co-habit peacefully in the interest of progress in the State. “We have said that the indigenes must live together because the moment you drive away the non-indigenes, Lagos will become a village.”
A recent survey conducted for ANAP Foundation by NOIPolls Limited has shown a close race in the Lagos State governorship seat between the two top contenders, reports ThisDay.
When asked who respondents would vote for in the coming February governorship election in Lagos State, Ambode led the list of candidates with 26 per cent, while Jimi Agbaje had 21 per cent.
However, 50 per cent of those polled are undecided as to their choice of candidate; and it is believed this significant proportion of voters would be critical in deciding who eventually wins the coveted seat.
