On Wednesday, Feb. 4, the Conference of Catholic Priests in Taraba State gave the government a condition for casting their votes. They disclosed that they and their followers will only vote for candidates in the forthcoming elections on conditions that such persons would be ready to tackle insecurity, poverty and underdevelopment.
Rev. Fr. Paul Kangkai said during an interactive session with some governorship candidates in Taraba that they could not afford to waste their votes on any candidate that is not going to perform.
"The church is not going to gamble with the votes of members. Any governorship candidate seeking our vote should be ready to tackle insecurity. Taraba is today grounded with insecurity. Many of our parishes across the state have been completely burnt and our priests and parishioners now refugees," he said.
