The mastermind of different attacks by Boko Haram in Niger’s Diffa region which is near the Nigerian border has reportedly been arrested by the Nigerien military .
According to Niger's Anfani private radio station, the sect member identified as Kaka Bounou, was a trader based in Diffa and goes by the alias, Captain, within the sect group. He has been arrested several times in the past and released. Boko Haram carried out their first attack on Niger last week.
