At least about 25 Nigerians were among over 150 people arrested by the Malaysia immigration department in it renewed efforts to rid the country of illegal immigrants and criminals.
The operations took place at Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, Terrenganu among others and those arrested are to be deported to their countries for contravening immigration laws.

The President, Nigerians in Diaspora, Malaysia (NIDOMY), Chief James Emarievbe disclosed that seven Nigerians are still in detention while 18 including students had been released after the intervention of the embassy and the suspects’ institutions.
